So far….

My name is Graham, I have been around the sun 30 ish times so far and each one has been full of hard work, good food, family support and some characters I call friends. I grew up just outside Seattle in a small town called Issaquah. After graduating I started down the current path I am on when I got my first job at a local golf course restaurant. This gave me the opportunity to pursue a career in hospitality, so I went to culinary school in upstate New York at The Culinary Institute of America. Degree in hand I headed to NYC to start my new career in the best city in the world. I started working for a very prominant French chef and ended up working for him for 7 years. Living in New York made me the man I am today and taught me a lot of lessons, personally and professionally.

When some good friends from culinary school called me with an opportunity to come back to the Seattle area and help them with their restaurant business I couldn’t say no. I landed in Kirkland and spent two years working for the hardest working chefs I know, helping them with their vision and learning more about people and management than I ever knew was possible.

Ready for the next chapter I went to Paris for a little reset on life and got my bearings about what I might want to do next. After consuming all the cheese and charcuterie I could get my hands on I came state side and starting looking for opportunities. This led me to to my current role up at the Willows Inn on Lummi Island. Close to home and one of the most unique cooking and living experiences of my life.

With new opportunities and exposure to some incredible things over the years I wanted to challenge myself in new ways and decided to create this blog site. It has been a slow process getting it going but I can’t wait to grow with it and share some of the things I get to call moments in my life. Travel, wine, dining, and my life as a chef are just a few of the things that I will share here.

Thanks for the support!
